A surgical cap is an essential part of every doctor’s equipment and of every operating theatre. Why are surgical caps so important?

Surgical caps are an indispensable part of personal protective equipment in the medical sector. Their primary purpose is to minimise the risk of germ transmission from medical staff to patients – especially during surgical procedures or in sterile areas. Hair and scalp can release bacteria, dandruff and other particles that represent a potential source of infection. Wearing a surgical cap prevents these particles from getting into the sterile working field.

In addition, surgical caps also protect the medical staff themselves, for example from splashes of liquid or other contamination. In many facilities they are therefore not only recommended but required by law in order to comply with hygiene regulations and occupational safety guidelines. In addition to functionality, wearing comfort also plays a role, as surgical caps are often worn for many hours. A well-fitting cap promotes concentration and safety in everyday work.

Our fabric surgical cap: Bandana Essential

The Bandana Essential is our model for an excellent surgical cap. The fabric cap is made of pure materials, namely 65 % GRS Certified Recycled Polyester and 35 % Conventional cotton. With a pleasant grammage of 150 g/m², the cap is barely noticeable on the head, and the fabric makes it colourfast, easy-care

Thanks to the recycled polyester content made from plastic waste, a high-quality fabric is created – without compromising on quality. The particularly lightweight fabric ensures a pleasant wearing feel – even on long working days. The high wash resistance at 95 °C ensures hygienic cleanliness as required in clinical areas.

Thanks to the practical tie at the back of the neck, the one size adapts flexibly to different head shapes and thus offers individual size adjustability for an optimal fit.

The twill fabric used is particularly lightweight and feels pleasantly soft on the skin without slipping or constricting – even when worn for long periods. At the same time, the material remains dimensionally stable, even after many washes, and permanently retains its fit and appearance.

Our fabric caps are available in no fewer than eleven different colours. This is not only because we want to suit every taste, but also because of the possibility of differentiation. Different colours are often used in medicine and nursing as a way of distinguishing between different departments. Whether you want a classic black, a striking kiwi green or a pleasant aubergine purple – you will find every colour in our online shop.

Another advantage of our Bandana Essential cap is its simplicity. Although the item impresses in terms of functionality, look and comfort, its design is kept simple and it is therefore very easy to personalise. Care instructions for surgical caps:

• Boil wash: normal wash cycle at a maximum of 95 °C
• Do not bleach
• Gentle drying (tumble dryer up to a maximum of 60 °C)
• Iron at a moderate temperature, maximum 150 °C (steam function permitted)
• Professional dry cleaning possible (symbol P in a circle)
