Not a choice, but a necessity – men’s work shoes in professional work environments

Particularly in the catering, hospitality, medical and service sectors, slippery floors, long periods of standing and heavy strain on the feet are common. Anyone relying on unsuitable footwear here risks not only pain and long-term damage, but also accidents at work. Durability, functionality and stability are therefore not empty promises, but essential features. Our men’s safety shoes protect against hot liquids, falling objects and slipping – and still deliver on their promises even after hours of use.

To ensure men in these sectors can work without restrictions, they need reliable equipment. Anyone who puts their body under strain day in, day out, should not skimp on safety footwear – but should opt for quality that matches performance.

Safety and comfort: specific requirements for different categories

Depending on the sector, men’s safety footwear must meet a wide range of requirements – from heat protection in the kitchen to hygienic lightness in the care sector and ergonomic comfort in the hotel and service industries.

Ergonomic challenges due to lack of support – why the right footwear is so important

Ergonomics and comfort are crucial – especially for safety footwear worn for many hours every day. In professions involving long periods of standing and walking, such as in the catering, hospitality, care or logistics sectors, feet, joints and the back are subjected to high levels of strain. Good safety footwear specifically cushions this strain. Padded footbeds, shock-absorbing midsoles and anatomically shaped insoles support healthy posture and reduce fatigue.

At the same time, a breathable lining ensures a comfortable foot environment – important for preventing sweating and pressure points. Lightweight materials, flexible soles and an optimal fit make all the difference. Anyone who spends many hours on their feet every day should therefore pay attention not only to safety standards, but also to comfort, ergonomics and long-term wearability. And that is exactly what we combine in our men’s safety shoes.

EN ISO 20345 compliant: Discover our diverse range of safety shoes!

The ROCK CHEF STEP 7 from Karlowsky is a lightweight, flexible slip-on shoe compliant with EN ISO 20345:2022 and protection class S1-SRC – ideal for long working days in the service industry, in the kitchen or in the hospitality sector. The robust plastic toe cap provides reliable protection against impacts, whilst the breathable Airmesh lining ensures a comfortable foot climate. Nevertheless, thanks to the Gore-Tex sole, the foot is protected against water and other liquids. An easy-care PE insole rounds off the comfort. Kept simple in black, the shoe suits any professional look.

The Oxford safety shoe is certified to EN ISO 20345:2011 (SB-E-A-FO-SRC) and reliably protects your feet with a steel toe cap, slip-resistant PU sole, antistatic properties and oil resistance. The easy-care upper, the breathable, antibacterial lining and the ergonomic insole offer high levels of comfort – even during long shifts. The open heel area with a press stud ensures quick on and off in a hurry.

The Usedom model is a lightweight, certified safety shoe (S1-SRC) that is ideal for high-risk work environments. With a steel toe cap (200 J), slip-resistant, antistatic PU sole and oil and fuel resistance, it offers reliable protection. The high energy absorption in the heel protects the joints. Durable synthetic leather and a comfortable PE foam insole ensure comfort – even during long shifts. For the inner lining, we opted for textile rather than nylon, as it is breathable and antibacterial. The wide fit and low weight offer optimum freedom of movement – even for wider feet. The shoe is available in sizes 35–47.

All our products comply with EN ISO 20345. Furthermore, we have deliberately omitted laces from our safety shoes, as these would make it considerably more difficult to put them on and take them off quickly and easily.
